Delays in providing a connection
If the telephone or internet connection is not available for your use on the agreed start date, the operator's delivery has been delayed. In this case, you do not have to pay for the subscription and you may also have the right to standard compensation.
Contact your operator
If the connection is not delivered by the time agreed on in the contract because of reasons which the operator can control, this is a breach of contract by the operator.
- Report this to the operator (file a complaint) and ask that they provide the connection.
- You do not have to pay for the subscription until the connection is available for your use.
In case of delays, you also have the right to claim standard compensation from the operator. The standard compensation is EUR 20 for each week or part of a week that the delay continues for, but no more than EUR 160 in total. You do not have the right to compensation if the operator shows that the delay is due to an unavoidable obstacle they cannot control.
If the actual costs caused by the delay are higher than the maximum standard compensation, you may also have the right to compensation for losses.
If there is a major delay in the delivery even after you have complained, you have the right to cancel the contract at once. You can cancel the contract verbally or in writing.
