Unforeseen events may occur before or during the trip, as a result of which the traveller or travel organiser may cancel or interrupt the trip without a liability for additional costs or damages.
Prior to your trip, you may cancel the trip at no cost due to unavoidable and exceptional circumstances occurring at or in the vicinity of the destination, which will in all likelihood affect the ability to implement the trip as agreed. On similar grounds, you may interrupt a trip that has already started, in which case you are entitled to a refund for the remaining part of the price of the trip.
Exceptional circumstances include natural catastrophes, such as floods, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis or extensive wildfires.
- A traveller should be prepared for changing weather conditions at the destination as well as significantly high temperatures, for example.
- The traveller may have the right to cancel the trip free of charge if it becomes evident that the temperature at the destination at the time of the trip is so exceptionally high that it will be impossible to provide the services included in the trip as agreed or the temperature causes specific health risks for the traveller. The assessment may also take into account the information that the organiser has provided prior to signing the contract regarding typical temperatures and other weather conditions at the destination.
The organiser also has the right to cancel or interrupt the trip in the case that exceptional circumstances prevent the organiser from carrying out the trip as agreed.
