On 16 December 2016, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) approved a corporate transaction based on which capital investment company CapMan will acquire Majoituspalvelu Forenom Oy.
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has concluded that the acquisition will not significantly impede effective competition in the Finnish market.
The parties to this transaction only have minor overlapping operations in the hotel market. CapMan has some ownership in the capital region’s hotel market and it also operates in the hotel rental market through the investment funds it manages.
Forenom organises accommodation for the employees of its corporate customers and helps international employees to find homes in Finland and abroad. The company also offers its customers furnished homes and other accommodation services.
The FCCA’s decision includes business secrets of the parties involved. The decision can only be published once all confidential information has been removed, which will take approximately two weeks.
