On 31 March 2017, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) approved a corporate transaction involving the acquisition of LSG Sky Chefs Finland Oy by Finnair Plc.
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has concluded that the acquisition will not significantly impede effective competition in the Finnish market.
Finnair is an airline company operating scheduled flights and chartered holiday flights. LSG Sky Chefs Finland prepares and delivers in-flight meals primarily to Finnair but also to other airline companies operating in the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Although owned by Finnair, control over LSG Sky Chefs Finland has been exercised by LSG Lufthansa Service Europa/Afrika GmbH. With this transaction, control is transferred to Finnair.
The FCCA’s decision includes business secrets of the parties involved. The decision cannot be published until the business secrets have been removed, i.e. in around two weeks’ time.
